Melt oleo and chocolate together. Remove from heat and add sugars, stirring until sugars are melted. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder. (If you prefer your brownies dense, less cake-like, don't include the baking powder.) Whisk eggs and pour into flour mixture. Add melted mixture and pecans. Stir only long enough until all ingredients are combined. If the final mixture is stirred too long, it will add more bubbles to the mixture and the final product will be more cake-like. Pour into a 9x13 dish and bake at 350 degrees for 22 minutes. Test with toothpick. If it comes out covered with batter, bake for additional 2 minutes. If toothpick comes out with small smear of batter, the brownies will be very gooey. Bake another 2 minutes. If toothpick comes out with several crumbs, it will be very moist. Another 2 minutes baking will probably produce a toothpick with only a couple crumbs. This is where most people like their brownies. (Every stove bakes differently, so test your baking goods often to have final product the way you like them.)
