California style granola with pistachios and sesame seeds
Mix togeather all the dry ingredients. In a seperate bowl (sprayed with pan spray) put the oil and the honey. Heat the honey slightly for best results. Whisk togeather the honey and the oil until incorporated well.
Alternating wet and dry combine both mixtures until all the dry ingredients shinea nd no longer look dry.
Spread evenly on parchment lined sheet pans (10 pans for a full recipe/5 for a half batch). Bake at 300 degrees checking after 10 minutes and then every 5 minutes there after until nuts are toasted and sugars have carmelized.
All nuts, seeds and dry fruit are interchangeable. I recommend that you keep the pistachios and sesame seeds and add some dry apricots for a little tang!
It is so important that you heat the honey slightly, either in a water bath, steamer or even in the microwave. it makes the mixture more fluid and easier to handle!
