Beat butter, brown sugar, sugar, mild egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
Add to butter mixture and mix well.
Stir oats, raisins and nuts if using. Drop by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake 11-15 minutes.
