This makes a nice, light bread perfect for sandwiches. Adapted from the Oatmeal Sandwich Bread recipe from King Arthur Flour.
Set your bread machine to 1 1/2 lbs loaf size, and choose the white/basic bread setting (even if you use the whole wheat substitution), and your desired crust color. Put the milk, salt, butter, and brown sugar/honey into the machine first. Then put the flour, oats, and yeast in next. Press start, and let the machine do the work! It is a good idea to check on the consistency of the bread throughout the kneading process, adding very small amounts of flour or water as needed. Make sure to cool the bread completely before slicing.
