Saute Bacon in large kettle until almost crisp, do not drain.
Add Onions and cook for 5-8 minutes more
Add Cubed potatoes, garlic salt, water, season with pepper for 15 minutes or until potatoes are soft
Add Clams with clam juice, half and half, margarine and sift in the flour.
Mix well and heat on low for 30 minutes. do not allow it to boil.
For an added mix add celery and carrots.
