Suggest a better descriptionIn a medium saucepan, add sugar ,salt and cornstartch. Turn on low heat and whisk in the half and half and egg yolks until smooth.Bring mixture to a low simmer while whisking, until it thickens to the texture of a custard. Remove from heat and whisk in vanilla and butter. Let mixture cool for 5 -10 minutes. Layer half of the custard, layer of bananas, other half of custard, then another layer of banana. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 4-24 hours. To make the whipped cream, mix heavy cream, Sugar and vanilla in stand mixer at a gradually increasing speed until soft peaks form. Use piping bag to cover chilled pie with whipped cream l, then top with almonds.
