A meat pie (or casserole) that has more meat than veggies but still awesome rustic feel and flavors.
Equipment Needed:
-Oven (400 degrees)
-Stove top
-Pie dish (reduce quantity of ingredients) or Casserole dish
-Saute pan & Stirring spoon
-Oven Mitts
-Knife and cutting board
-Spatula (for serving)
Begin Cooking:
-Grease Casserole dish with some butter (or non-stick cooking spray).
-Arrange pie crust to fit the dish.
-Preheat Oven to 400 degrees.
-Onion, garlic, salt, pepper, & half of your butter go into a saute pan and cook on medium-high heat until onions are tender (not brown).
-Add cubed beef longer enough to brown it. (Salt & Pepper)
-Add beef broth, flour, and bring to a simmer .
-Remove from heat and pour into your prepared Casserole dish.
-Scatter the rest of your veggies, butter, and spices (including salt & pepper to taste) on top of your beef and gravy.
-Lightly fold it all together.
-Cover with pie crust.
-Add slits to the top crust for steam venting.
-Flute or crimp your pie crust edges together.
-Place filled Casserole dish in the preheated oven for 30-45 minutes (or until pie crust is golden brown and flaky).
-Remove from oven and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
-Serve and enjoy
