Better than store bought because they aren't too sweet
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large mixing bowl, Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar; add egg and beat well. In separate medium mixing bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla to shortening mixture. Mix thoroughly. Spoon onto cookie sheets. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake for about 15 minutes. Let cool.
If making cut out cookies, roll onto lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut with floured cutters. Bake 15 min.
Also good with no bake icing.
