Suggest a better descriptionMade the recipe in Foods of The Greek Islands except:
-used red vermouth (which is not as sweet, so use less if using a sweet red wine)
- used a mix of chicken livers and hearts
- 1 tsp but not more of aleppo pepper
- 1 cup coarse bulgur (200-240 gm) is enough for 3 servings and with all other amounts same as the original recipe unless speicified herein
- used a total of 500 gm vegetables (frozen peas and pre-broiled mushrooms)
- 1/2 cup currants
-only 2 cups chicken stock (but made with 2 bouillon cubes with no salt elsewhere)
-used whole almonds, 1 tsp cumin and 3-4 tbs butter
-cooked for 20 minutes covered (hole left open) or uncovered depending on the amount of water in there
- garnished with mint instead of the dill as well as chopped orange slices from the orange whose zest was grated (coarse grating is best using the manual grater)
Quite delicious!
