Mrs. Thompson's Recipe
Cut Green tomatoes and onions into thin slices then sprinkle with 1/2 cup of salt (not iodized) - Sifto Course Pickling Salt
Let stand overnight.
Drain in morning and scald with week vinegar (2 cups vinegar to 3 cups water) for 15 minutes
Drain weak vinegar solution off
Combine the cider vinegar, water and spices and bring to boiling point.
Add tomatoes and onions and simmer slowly uncovered for 30 minutes.
Add 1/2 cup of flour mixed with cold water (to make runny paste) and cook, stirring continually until thickened
Pour into sterilized jars and seal
