1. Cook bacon until crisp, then crumble; set aside. Drain all but 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings from skillet (no need to add any fat if less than this).
2. Bring chicken broth to a boil and add orzo. Boil for 10 minutes. Stirring occasionally. Drain any remaining liquid.
3. Cook onion and garlic in bacon drippings until tender.
4. Add orzo, carrots, and peppers. Heat through, tossing to coat.
5. Sprinkle with bacon.
