I have used this recipe for quite some time. It is so much easier than the conventional method of constantly stirring over a hot stove. It is delicious and always a favorite with my husband.
Mix together. Bake in large casserole at 325 degrees, uncovered, for approximately
3 hours. Stir every half hour. Ladle into sterilized jars. May be stored in refrigerator or processed in waterbath.
I make my own applesauce and leave some chunks of apple in the sauce as this is what we like. However, if you prefer a completely smooth apple butter, you may process in blender or food processor.
