Wash chicken and pat dry. Melt shortening and butter in a 13X9 inch baking pain in the oven.
Mix flour, salt, paprika and pepper. Coat chicken with the flour mixture. Place chicken skin side down in pan. Bake uncovered 30 minutes.
Turn chicken and bake until thickest pieces are fork tender. 20-30 minutes longer.
