Suggest a better descriptionPreheat oven to 300°. Dry the pork steaks and trim off any excess fat from the edges. Sprinkle with salt and PEPPER. Heat the olive oil in a nonstick pan (or oven-safe pan with cover) over medium-high heat. Add the pork steaks and brown on both sides, 3 minutes per side or so. Remove from the pan and place in a Dutch oven or ovenproof covered casserole dish (or if you started with an oven-safe pan for browning, just add everything else). Combine the BEEF SOUP BASE and the hot water. Stir to dissolve. Add the ROSEMARY, GARLIC and apple juice concentrate. Stir to combine. Sprinkle the onions over the pork steaks. Pour the seasoned broth over the meat and onions. Cover and bake at 300° for 3-3 1/2 hours. Remove the pork steaks and set aside. Cook the onions and broth on the stovetop over medium-high heat until the sauce is reduced to about 2 cups. For a thicker sauce, combine 1 tsp. flour or cornstarch with 2 Tbsp. water and then stir into the sauce and simmer until thickened. Serve over rice or noodles.
