Preheat oven to 375
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup water with 1/2 tablespoon sugar til foamy.
Heat milk, butter, sugar in saucepan and cool to lukewarm.
Beat eggs with vanilla and salt.
Add butter mixture and yeast.
Stir in flour.
Knead til smooth
Let rise til double in bulk
Grease pans, braid dough and brush with egg and milk. Raise in pan
