Bacon and turkey go together really well – but then again, bacon goes well with just about everything. This modified recipe for pasta Carbonara repurposes leftover turkey into a star ingredient. Try this recipe as a way to use up your leftover Thanksgiving food.
Cook the pasta according to package instructions. While the pasta is cooking, fry the bacon for about five minutes, or until just crisp. Remove the bacon from the pan and let drain on paper towels. Chop the bacon into fine pieces. Drain off the excess bacon grease and return the pan to the stove. Sauté the onions and garlic and cook for about three minutes, or until soft.
Next, combine eggs, cheese, cream, salt, and pepper. Once pasta is done cooking, drain and add in the egg mixture. Add in the bacon, garlic, cooked turkey, and onion and serve garnished with additional Parmesan cheese.
