1. Place washed beans and pasta in a pot with 12 cups of water and boil covered 60-70 minutes.
2. While beans and pasta are boiling, prepare vegetables.
3. Add prepared vegetables and Hurst's Italian Soup Seasoning Packet to beans and simmer 30-40 minutes.
Yield - 3 quarts
Serve with Italian bread and green salad. Great as a leftover and freezes well.
(for crock pot - put all ingredients except tomatoes, tomato sauce, meatballs and seasoning packet in crock pot. Boil water in kettle if you want before adding to crock pot. Cook on high for 6 hours. Add tomatoes, sauce, meatballs and seasoning packet and cook for an additional 20-30 minutes to thaw meatballs completely.)
