Bring 1st 3 ingredients to a boil and add peanuts. Cook until nuts quit popping. It will take a few minutes for the nuts to start popping. Don't let it turn brown, though.
Remove from stove and add 1.5 tsp baking soda.
Stir well and then pour onto a well greased large cookie sheet.
Allow to cool and then use ice pick to break into smaller pieces.
