Cream peanut butter, shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and brown sugar. Add the egg, milk, and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, baking soda and salt and add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in remaining sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes, or until light ly browned. Remove from oven and press on hershey kiss in the center of each cookie. Remove to cooling rack. I use this recipe in mini cupcake pans and press a PB cup in each before removing to a cooling rack.
