This Mousse has been served in everything from a foil 9 x 13 pan to an elegant trifle bowl. Of course if your budget permits you should use the very best ingredients you can find. Honestly, I use the least expensive ice cream and cool whip.
Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Freeze 2 hours. If frozen solid, thaw 2 hours in the refrigerator before serving.
Variations:
Layer in several applications of hard shell ice cream topping.
Use chunky peanut butter and add miniature chocolate chips.
Fill a chocolate or graham cracker pie crust. Top with cool whip and drizzle with chocolate topping. Make sure you don't let this soften too much or it won't hold up when you cut it.
Layer with fudge topping (Mrs. Richards's is my favorite) and cool whip in parfait glasses or 8 oz clear plastic tumblers. Top with cool whip and a sprinkling of nuts.
