Suggest a better description1.Generously coat a 4-5 quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Add pears to cooker. In a small saucepan combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter, and ginger. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Pour over pears, stir to coat.
2. In large mixing bowl beat 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter. Beat in egg. Beat in molasses until thoroughly mixed.
3. In medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. Add half of the flour mix to the butter mix, beating on low until combined. Add chai; mix slightly. Add remaining flour mix and beat until combined. Spread mix evenly over pears in cooker.
4. Place clean kitchen towel over top of cooker, then place cover on cooker. Cook on high for 2-2 1/2 hours or until it passes toothpick test. If possible, rotate crockery liner halfway through to ensure even cooking.
5. Remove crockery liner from cooker and let cool for 5 minutes. Loosen edge with butter knife and flip over onto plate
