To make the dressing, place the syrup, vinegar, mayo, brown sugar, salt and pepper into a blender. Blend thoroughly, and while the motor is running, slowly add the walnut oil. Blend until creamy, about a minute. Pour over salad, toss to coat, and serve immediately.
