Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add granulated sugar and 1/4 teaspoon salt, beat until combined. Beat in vanilla. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir any remaining flour. Stir in pecans.
Shape lightly rounded teaspoons of dough into balls. Place balls 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated over about 12 min or until bottoms just begin to brown. Transfer to wire racks; cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and if desired , edible sprinkles. Makes 72
To Store: Place in layers separated by waxed paper in an airtight container. Store at room temp. for up to 3 days or freeze up to 3 months.
