Suggest a better descriptionPreheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 8 x 8 pan.
1. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. In a medium bowl, stir butter and brown sugar until combined.
Stir in egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture and stir until just combined. Stir in the pecans.
2. Spread batter evenly in baking pan. Bake until a tooth pick inserted into center comes out clean, 22 to 24 minutes.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool before cutting into squares.
Note: I double the recipe and bake in a 13 x 9 pan and it turns out well.
