Thoroughly mix butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Gradually stir in flour and pecans. Chill. Shape into marble-size balls.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet for 15-17 minutes or until firm but not brown. Roll gently in powdered sugar. Cool, sugar again.
Makes 50 cookies.
