Old fashioned recipe from the Woman's Home Companion Cookbook 1940 edition.
1. Prepare pastry and make an unbaked 9-inch pastry shell. Chill thoroughly.
2. Cream butter; add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
3. Add remaining ingredients and blend well.
4. Pour into pastry shell. Bake on lower shelf in a moderate oven (375 degrees F) for 40-45 minutes
Let pie will be done when the top of the pie is slightly raised and when slightly touched the middle jiggles but the outer is filling does not. Do not cut for at least a couple of hours.
