*In a large mixing bowl, mix together the first 5 ingredients. Then mix in the sour cream.
In a medium bowl mix the remaining ingredients together, except the flour. Add the spice mixture to the large bowl and mix together well. Add the flour 2 cups at a time until you have a stiff dough. Cover mixture and set aside at room temperature overnight.
The next day when you are ready to bake the Peppernuts, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Roll out the dough into long rolls about the size of a pencil. Cut dough into 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes and enjoy.

This dish was introduced to the McBride family by a lady known in El Dorado as "The Cookie Lady". She introduced a new recipe to the community each week via her column in the Shoppers Guide, which was founded and operated by Lynn and Karen McBride (Mashella's parents). Lynn made this dish Christmas 1988, Joel and Mashella's first Christmas as newlyweds. Watch out these Peppernuts are spicy and addictive!
