This recipe was created after analyzing ten different Picadillo recipes. Had never tried it before, but was very keen on doing so. So I analyzed ten recipes listing all the ingredients found in each, then selected the ingredients common in all, (such as ground beef and onions), as well as the ingredients found in most. Then added ingredients I thought I would like from the list.
The following recipe is the outcome and it turned out great. Not to mention quick and easy.
1. Chop onion, garlic, bell pepper and olives.
2. Heat olive oil in skillet and then saute the onion, garlic and bell pepper until soft. Put aside.
3. Saute beef until brown and drain if necessary.
4. Add sauteed vegetables, chopped olives, capers, spices and then the diced tomatoes.
5. Stir and then simmer for 5~10 minutes on low.
6. Serve with rice.
