Cut cucumbers into desired shape. Dust with additional salt and let sit at least an hour and preferably overnight. Rinse. Bring all brine ingredients to a boil to dissolve salt and sugar. Cool to room temp. Pour over cucumbers and refrigerate. Give it a week and they're awesome.
