Betty Crocker cookbook 1979
Cut shortening into flour and salt until particles are pea size. Sprinkle in water 1 tablespoon at a time until all flour is moistened and pastry almost cleans the side of the bowl. Gather dough into ball, flatten onto floured pastry board and roll into circle 2 inches larger than pie plate.
Fill and bake as directed in pie recipe.
For baked pie crust, bake at 475 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
