Pecan pie, pecans mixed into filling

preheat oven to 350
roast pecans in oven prior to grinding and chopping; grind the 1/2 cup of pecans
In electric mixer beat eggs until frothy, then add sugar, corn syrup, ground roasted pecans, vanilla, butter, salt
Beat on medium speed until well blended
Stir in pecan pieces and pour into pie shell
Bake 350 for 35 minutes;
reduce temp to 325 and bake until top browned, approx. 20 min (may be done after 10 minutes)
remove from oven and cool to room temp at least 1 hour before serving
