From my late mother's copy of "Favorite Recipes of the Aetna Girls," August, 1975 [Toledo, Ohio]. This recipe submitted by Peggy Ivancso & Marilyn Keip. [N. B.: I have not made this recipe.]
Core cabbage, put in boiling water for about 10 min. until leaves can be easily peeled off. Cool leaves in cold water. Mix all ingredients except tomato sauce & Sauer Kraut. Put about 2½ Tbs. mixture in each cabbage leaf. Fold two sides over mixture and roll up from core end. Put half can Sauer Kraut in bottom of large greased baking dish. Arrange rolls, seam side down, on top of Sauer Kraut, cover with remaining Sauer Kraut, then pour tomato sauce over all. Cover & bake in 350 degree over [sic] for 1 to 1½ hrs. Add a little water if it appears to be getting dry. Peggy prefers to cook hers on top of the stove for 1 hr. or more.
[Note this is copied verbatim from 1975 text, and I have not made it.]
