Soak the rice in the warm water for approximately 15 minutes.
Heat the oil, add the cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, cloves and crushed peppercorns and fry for a few minutes.
Add the onion and fry until it turns light brown.
Now add the garlic, ginger, coriander, tomato and salt and cook until the tomato becomes smooth.
Add the water from the rice and bring it to the boil before adding the rice. Cover the pan with a lid and let the rice simmer until the water has been absorbed
Remove cloves, cinamon stick and bay leaves before serving
