Mix 1 cup sugar, crushed pretzels and butter. Spread thinly on cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 7 minutes. Cool. Crumble hardened mixture. Drain can of pineapple tidbits and mix with all remaining ingredients. Add half of crumbled pretzel mixture. Add pecans, if desired. Stir evenly. Garnish with remaining pretzel mixture.
Increase the crushed pretzel mixture to use as a garnish.
