This is good
Drain pineapple well, reserving one-half cup syrup. Cram shortening and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and beat til light. Sift together next 3 ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with reserved syrup, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Spread half in greased 8x8-inch baking pan. Spread with pineapple. Top with remaining batter. Combine remaining ingredients and sprinkle on top. Bake at 350F for about 35 minutes. Serves 12
