Poached pears in port and orange flavor with sweet cream.
Preheat oven to 375?
Gently drop peeled, whole pears into bowl of water with the tablespoon of lemon juice; leave to rest.
Bring ? cup sugar and ? cup water to boil in a small saucepan and simmer 5 minutes.
Arrange pears on their sides in deep baking dish. Pour hot sugar syrup over them.
Pour beside them the Grand Marnier and the port and add the orange zest.
Cover dish and bake pears for 30 minutes; turn; cover and bake 20 minutes more.
Serve 1/2 pear in a bowl with the cooking liquid and with a portion of unwhipped whipping cream poured over them and a dash of nutmeg and/or brandy to taste.
