Grandma Nay fixed this cake for family gatherings
Prepare cake mix as directed on pkg. for 9 X 13 pan. Pour in greased and flour pan. Bake as directed on pkg. Cool for 15 minutes. Prepare gelatin as directed on pkg with boiling water and cold water (not ice cubes) With tines of fork poke holes to bottom of cake at 1/2 in intervals. Gently pour gelatin evenly over cake. Refrigerate 3-4 hours before serving.
Frost with cool whip.
