preheat oven to 400*
-in a food processor fitted with a metal blade, grate the onions and the potatoes
-in a bowl mix beat the eggs, add the oil, salt, pepper, and sugar and mix
-add the mixture of the onions with the potatoes and stir until thoroughly combined
-in a large 9 by 13 inch rectangular baking pyrex add the mixture
-bake uncovered for one hour or until golden
So the potatoes don't become black, put them in water until they are being grated
