Great comfort food
Heat oven to 400F.
Cook beef in a skillet over medium heat until done. Drain. Add Taco Seasoning and water, and cook according to package directions(you may want to add only 1/2 the package, since the package was made for 1 lb. of meat. Whatever your taste).
Stir together potatoes and sauce mix from Au Gratin package, and add boiling water and milk. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
Stir in beef and 1/2 cup of cheese. Pour into 2 quart casserole dish.
Bake uncovered for 30 minutes until top is light golden brown. Sprinkle chips over casserole. Sprinkle remaining cheese over casserole. Bake about 5 minutes more, until cheese is melted. Let stand 2 minutes before serving.
