Put water in a measuring cup. Add 1 tsp sugar from list & dissolve.
add yeast to mixture and dissolve. Let set for 5 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, add milk, remaining sugar, salt, egg, oil, yeast mixture, and 3 cups of flour; beat until smooth. Add enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
Melt butter, and combine all filling ingrediemts in a mixing bowl. Stir until it is of spreading consistancy. Set aside.
Punch dough down. Roll into a rectangle. (almost see-through). Spread filling to within 1 inch of the edges. Roll up from one long side; pinch seams and ends to seal. Place on a greased cookie sheet or baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 1 hour.
Brush the top with butter.
Bake at 300 for 90 minutes or until brown. Cool on a wire rack.
