Surprise her with this simple, foolproof quiche!
Preheat oven to 400 F. Remove one pastry circle from the Leadbetter's box and place in a deep pie dish. Mix eggs in a bowl. Add cream and cheese; ;mix. Saute onion, ham, and zucchini till well reduced in size. Need to get rid of excess moisture. Add mix to egg mixture. Add basil, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour mixture into pie crust. Do not try to bake this pie crust before using!
Bake for 10 minutes at 400 F. Then reduce heat to 350 and back for 20 minutes. Then check quiche, and put crust edge protector over crust and finish for 5 minutes at 325 F.
It should be a magnificent golden brown and well puffed up. (Risen to a convex shape, for you engineers out there!)
Enjoy with fruit and champagne.
Don't try to pre-bake this pie crust, and don't bother with another brand. If you can't find this, make your own and use only butter--no shortening!
