Suggest a better descriptionThe night before I make the quiche:
Dice white onion, place in Tupperware.
Dice bell peppers, place in Tupperware.
Rinse and Cook bacon on large sheet pans/ cover in foil. Bake 375* for about 25 to 30 min. Drain on paper towels, cut into bite size pieces. Place in Tupperware.
Cook sausage into small pieces. Drain on paper towels in bowl. Cover with Press n Seal. Place in refrigerator.
Preheat oven 375*
Pull pie crust from refrigerator separate and put aside.
Large bowl 4qt. at least
8 large eggs (2 1/2) inches tall
1 pint heavy cream
Whisk very well I use a small whisk 8 inches.
Add onion, bell peppers, garlic powder, white or black pepper to taste.
Add cheeses 2 cups each of your choice of cheeses.
If you want bacon and sausage together then pour half of mixture into 1 pie to about 1/4 inch from top of crust. Then fill 2 pie as first. If you have a little mixture left, then add a little to each but do not over fill.
Place each pie on a large baking sheet, just in case of a run over.
So you do not have to clean the bottom of the oven.
Bake for 30 minutes then shake the rack a little,if the center of the pie jiggles. Then check back every 10 minutes. Every oven is different, so I always check the quiche in the center with a toothpick once golden brown on top.
Once toothpick comes out clean (without wet look) make sure it stays a golden brown. Then pull out of oven, leave on flat pan. Cool for 10- 15 minutes before serving.
If you want to serve later then leave on top of the stove until the oven cools back down. Then you can place them back in oven on warm. If you have to travel with the quiches, place in refrigerator and cool, then wrap in Press n Seal.
Stack on top of each other, on a charger and wrap in Press n Seal.
When ready to serve, cut and place on plate.
Reheat in microwave for 20 to 25 seconds. Depending on microwaves, do one slice to test temperature. Or if you have a oven at your destination, then heat oven to 275* and reheat for 20 minutes.
The first one I made I messed up really bad, you have to learn your appliances.
Each and every oven I have ever owned was different so do not give up.
Please know you can call me, and we can FaceTime anytime you need me.
Also, I have made these quiches for over 30 years.
Every time there is something different. I have to much ingredients left, short on ingredients. Sometimes to brown on top, but tasted great. Forgot to put cheese in, still was great. So just remember have fun, and test new ingredients and make it yours. Spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc.
Love,
Mom
