Put butter in baking dish and melt in oven.
Combine peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and mix well.
Add other seasonings to the saucepan as desired.
Bring to boil and remove from heat.
Mix flour, 1/2 cup sugar and add milk slowly (to prevent clumping).
Pour batter over melted butter. Do not stir.
Gently spoon filling and juices on top of batter.
Sprinkle top with cinnamon, sugar (optional).
Bake for 30-45 minutes.
