1. In a medium to large pan Sauté diced onion in oil. When translucent add minced garlic, stir about 1 minute with care not to burn or brown garlic.
2. Add can of Crushed Tomatoes, water and stir.
3. Add Italian seasoning, oregano , black pepper and sugar. Mix well and simmer stirring frequently until thickened to your liking.
4. Just as sauce thickness is to your liking, add basil and simmer a minute more then serve.
Added secret....For a great pizza sauce add 4 oz can of tomato paste when adding the crushed tomatoes.
