In saucepan mix sugar and cocoa. Stir in butter milk and corn syrup. Bring to a boil.
Boil 3 minutes. Stir occasionally. Take out spoon and set pan in cord water. when you can hold your hand on the bottom of the pan the syrup is cool enough.
Then mix in confectioners sugar and vanilla. You may need up to 1/2 c. more sifted confectioners sugar. Stir until icing is thick enough to spread.
