Add all ingredients except the mayonnaise to the hot water and mix. If the sugar doesn't melt completely you can microwave for 10 seconds. Drizzle this over the mayonnaise while mixing with a fork until smooth. Taste for seasoning and place in the refrigerator to cool.
Sealed in a jar this sauce will last for about 1 week. I make this before I start cooking my hibachi and we never seem to have any left!
