Rinse and peel quinces. Cut into quarters and remove cores.
Combine water, sugar, cloves and lemon juice in a mall pot. Bring to a simmer a stir until sugar is dissolved.
Add the quinces to the pot. Simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the quinces are tender.
Arrange quince slices on a serving platter.
Spoon clotted cream over quinces.
