Suggest a better descriptionBring water to boil, ratio is 2:1 water:oats
Add 1/2 pound butter, heaping 1/2 cup brown sugar & salt to taste per container (or 42 ounces/1 gallon) of oats.
Turn heat down, add oats and stir until creamy.
Add Vanilla & Cinnamon to taste.
Cover and let sit.
Melt remaining butter. Warm milk, approximately 1/2 gallon per 100 served.
Serve raisins, milk, brown sugar, walnuts & butter as requested.
Some conversions: 1 container = 42 ounces (2.6 lbs) = 1 gallon (volume)
When measuring out oats from a bulk bag, use a gallon measuring container
1 gallon per 50 servings (with corresponding 2 gallons of water)
