Rinse and salt beans, cover with water. Cook over low flame in covered pan. Render meat and add to beans. In meat drippings, saute onions, garlic, celery and parsley. Add mix and bay leaf to beans. Cook for 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours. Add water as necessary while cooking before beans are done. Mash 4-5 tablespoons of beans through strainer. Stir into liquid. Serve over rice
