1. Heat the bacon drippings in a lare skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and saute until the onion is transluscent and softened, about 6 minutes.
2. Add all of the remaining ingredients to the pan, stir to combine. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the pot. Continue to cook until the cabbage is tender and the sauce is reduced to a glaze, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes.
